As a nature photographer, I've seen my share of beautiful sunsets and sunrises over magical landscapes all over the world. I've had the pleasure of photographing rare and endangered wildlife.
But sometimes, I just crave photographing something that no one else has photographed yet; or find a subject that most people wouldn't give a second glance.
That's how I came upon this funky wooden door with peeling paint that was on a dilapidated storage shed in my hometown in Oregon. To me, close up it looked like an abstract expressionist painting, and there were many different ways to frame and compose shots. This is one in a series of four shots I took.
It was a great way to exercise the creative vision part of my brain.
