These huge granite formations at popular Pfeiffer Beach are one of the the most prominent features along the Big Sur, California coastline. You will not, however, see it simply by driving Highway 1. You'll need to drive 2.5 miles down an unmarked dirt road to enjoy it. And that seems to be the way the locals like it. Ask for directions at the Big Sur Bakery & Cafe.
