Bridge of Sighs. The enclosed bridge connected the Venice prison to interrogation rooms. According to legend, the British poet Lord Byron dubbed it the "Bridge of Sighs" after hearing that prisoners would get their last glimpse of beautiful Venice from the windows in this bridge as they were being led away to their prison cell. Sounds good even if based on fantasy.
