En route to Punta Arenas, almost to the southern tip of the South American continent, we ran across some gauchos, their horses and dogs on a long sheep drive across the Patagonia steppes. They were moving 30,000 sheep from one government-provided corral station to another until they get to their final destination. I couldn't get the entire mass of sheep in one photo even with a wide-angle lens. But this image should give you some idea of what thousands upon thousands of sheep look like huddled together.
