Approaching Storm_0015_16_17

The forecast called for a possible thunderstorm in late afternoon/early evening, but this one arrived several hours ahead of schedule and caught myself and my family near the plateau on Tam MacArthur Rim. I took this shot about 10 minutes before the summer storm unleashed its full fury with golf-size hail and lightning strikes. We all huddled as best we could from protection from the hailstorm, and as soon as their was a lull in its intensity, we trotted down the trail to our car about two miles away.
