A pre-dawn kayak outing into Sparks Lake in the Central Oregon Cascade Range enabled me to catch Broken Top and South Sister (pictured here) slowly (ever so slowly) emerge from the mist into the dawn light as sunlight broke over a nearby ridge, illuminating the scene with a golden light.
