I'm still all pumped from our recent trip to Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Just getting around Alaska is a mind-boggling experience. Getting to and from our remote destinations required driving, train, floatplane, dogsleds, horseback, rafting, hiking, helicopter and canoes. We were in fabulous, unspoiled locations where there was very little evidence of the hand of man. Alaska weather can turn on a dime, and it often did. Cloudless blue sky was rare, which was good considering we were photographing glaciers, forests and alpine lakes – subjects best photographed in the soft, diffused light provided by cloud cover. The trip was a workout, but well worth it and very rewarding. I loved being unplugged from wifi and cable news for 10 days. Looking forward to a return journey to this great state.
