Quite often, it's either boom or bust when it comes to sunsets on the Pacific Coast along the Monterey Peninsula. Sometimes a marine layer on the horizon swallows up the sun and day turns to night without any explosion of color. But other times, as on this particular November evening, the sunset produces a resplendent show for the spellbound spectators who are lucky enough to be on the beach at this time. This paddle boarder was out enjoying the sunset and provided the exclamation point for a great ocean scene.
