This is why getting to a location before sunrise is critical for a landscape photographer. The colors often do wonderful and unpredictable things. The camera's of digital sensors these days can pick up colors far more accurately than film, and even the human eye. I was quite pleased when I saw the subtle hues in this image made off the Monterey Bay, California coast at a place called Seal Rock.
