Toketee Falls lies at the end of a pleasant mile hike. The North Umpqua plunges some 90 feet over a columnar basalt formation here. The main problem with photographing this falls is there are really no alternative vantage points to shoot from other than an observation deck. I carry a rope in my car, but would not attempt to use it on this excursion because I was alone. With a partner, it would be possible to lower yourself by rope from the trail to the river banks below. If you get into trouble, your partner can always go for help. Toketee means "pretty" or "graceful" in the Native American language that was spoken in this region.
