After waiting and wondering (taking bets, actually) whether or not the sunset would be dramatic, my fellow photographers and I were rewarded for our patience when the sun dipped behind the Sierra Nevada and the sky exploded with color. It was as if a fireball had gone off as the red sky was reflected in Mono Lake and bathed the world in a red dye.
